“I have my own laws and my own court to judge me… Others have no vision of you, but judge you by uncertain conjectures; they see not so much your nature as your artifices. Do not rely on their opinions, therefore; rely on your own. ‘You must use your own judgment about yourself.’”—Michel de Montaigne, On Repentance (1580)
My cousins and I will be spending time on my aunt and uncle’s farm this summer:
"We really need help and they want to learn more about business, farming, healthy local food and the environment. You can join our camp!
Plus we will begin building our greenhouse out of cob (earthen mud).
Next week Allen and Tim will be insulating and installing the paneling in the bunkhouse, then Tim will build the 2 sets of bunks and lay carpet, etc… It will have a bathroom, little fridge, no TV and 4 beds. And of course we also have tents anytime you want to camp by the river too.
Yes, we would work you- harvesting and canning veggies, caring for the 20 chickens and the very large puppy and you can mow on our tractor too -its fun! We’ll be building and planting and watering, etc.. it is our vocation, avocation and recreation! Plus there is the river and canoes and bonfires. And we love to play games at night.”
